Dry Lake RacerFrom $1Table of contents
gt; The Dry Lake Racer has been an on going project, from a trusty Vespa PX200 I bought new in 2000. It originally started out as a high tech commuter (see blog). The first gadget I hooked up however was a GPS, which showed some unusually low readings for speed. With a bit of testing I found the speedo reading of my Vespa (and all Vespa's) was high by 10Km/hr! This was confirmed with a number of different GPS's, different Vespa's and tyre speed devices. This lead me to a pursuit of higher top speed and with the help of Jeremy Scott we have decided to turn it into a scooter to take an Australia Dry Lake Speed Record... In PrintA full report of our first attempt at the salt lake Speed Week 2009 has been published in the July 2009 International Scootering and Australian Twowheels Scooter magazines. Specifications
